Food Sensitivity Testing:
Find Your Trigger Foods

Feel bloated, tired, or foggy after eating but can’t figure out why? An IgG and IgA food sensitivity panel looks at delayed immune reactivity to a broad range of foods and helps guide a structured plan to identify what actually bothers you.

About Food Sensitivity

A food sensitivity is
not the same as an allergy.

Food allergies involve IgE antibodies and usually cause fast reactions such as hives, swelling, or trouble breathing. Food sensitivities are different. They may cause delayed symptoms that appear hours or even days later, such as bloating, fatigue, headaches, skin flares, or joint aches, which makes them hard to connect to a specific food.

A food sensitivity panel measures IgG and IgA antibody reactivity to a broad range of common foods. Because IgG can also reflect foods you simply eat often, results are not a diagnosis. Chelsea uses them as a starting point for a structured elimination and reintroduction plan, so you only remove foods that truly affect you, and only for as long as needed.

At Orchid Wellness, food sensitivity testing is ordered through your $250 functional consultation with Chelsea Asante, FNP-C. The test is billed separately, and your results are reviewed live, in person in Carrollton or by telehealth across Texas, New York, Virginia, and Washington DC.

The Process

From consultation
to answers.

01
Book Your Consultation
Book your $250 functional consultation and complete your intake through your patient portal. Chelsea determines whether the food sensitivity panel is right for you. The test is billed separately.
02
Get Your Collection Kit
Depending on the panel, you receive a home finger-prick kit or a lab order for a simple blood draw.
03
Collect Your Sample
Keep eating your normal diet before collecting, since foods you have avoided may not show reactivity.
04
Live Results Review & Plan
Results typically return in about 1 to 3 weeks. Chelsea reviews them with you and builds a structured elimination and reintroduction plan.
Before You Collect

How to prepare.

  • Eat your usual diet in the weeks before testing. Foods you have avoided may not show reactivity even if they bother you.
  • Tell Chelsea about any medications, especially steroids or other immune-suppressing medications, which can affect results.
  • Drink water before a finger-prick collection to make it easier.
  • Follow the kit instructions for collection and shipping.
Good to Know

Results, cost, and safety.

  • Results typically return in about 1 to 3 weeks after the lab receives your sample.
  • Functional testing is direct-pay and not typically covered by insurance. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
  • Home kits are mailed to patients in Texas, New York, Virginia, and Washington DC.
Important: IgG and IgA results do not diagnose food allergy or intolerance, and major allergy organizations do not recommend IgG testing on its own for that purpose. We use your results to guide a structured elimination and reintroduction plan. If you have hives, swelling, or trouble breathing after eating, that may be a true food allergy. Seek emergency care for severe reactions and ask about an allergist referral.
Frequently Asked Questions

Food Sensitivity FAQ

A food allergy involves IgE antibodies and usually causes a fast reaction such as hives, swelling, vomiting, or trouble breathing, which can be dangerous. A food sensitivity tends to cause delayed, milder symptoms like bloating, fatigue, headaches, or skin flares. This panel looks at sensitivity (IgG and IgA), not allergy (IgE).
No. Results are a guide, not a list of foods to avoid forever. Chelsea uses them to build a structured elimination and reintroduction plan, so you only remove foods that actually affect how you feel, and only for as long as needed.
IgG and IgA reactivity depends on exposure. If you have avoided a food for a long time, it may not show up even if it bothers you, so eating your usual diet gives the most useful results.
Yes. Your intake is completed online, many panels use a home finger-prick kit, and your results review can be by telehealth in Texas, New York, Virginia, and Washington DC, or in person in Carrollton.
Functional testing is generally direct-pay. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and Cherry payment plans are available to eligible patients.
