visit types with their own
prep guide below.
Your First Visit

What to expect
when you arrive.

Your first visit is a comprehensive conversation about you. Plan for approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

01
Arrive 10 to 15 Minutes Early

This gives you time to complete any remaining intake paperwork and settle in before you meet with your provider. If you completed your forms online ahead of time, you are already ahead.

02
Health History Review

Your provider will review your full health history, current medications, supplements, allergies, and any concerns or goals you have brought to this visit. Nothing is too small to mention.

03
Vitals Assessment

We will check your blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and oxygen saturation. These give us a baseline picture of how your body is functioning today.

04
Physical Examination

Depending on your reason for visit and health history, a physical examination may be performed. Your provider will explain everything before proceeding and will always ask for your consent.

05
Lab Work May Be Ordered

Based on your health goals and clinical findings, your provider may order laboratory tests. These may be completed at the time of your visit or at a designated lab.

06
Your Personalized Care Plan

You and your provider will build a care plan together. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Your plan will reflect your goals, your lifestyle, and your values.

07
Follow-Up and Next Steps

Before you leave, we will schedule any follow-up appointments, referrals, or lab reviews needed. Your results will be communicated through your patient portal.

Before You Come In

How to prepare
for your visit.

A little preparation goes a long way. Find your visit type below and review the checklist before your appointment.

Preparing for Blood Work

Labs and diagnostics
Fast for 8 to 12 hours. Water is always okay. Most medications are fine unless your provider has instructed otherwise.
Drink plenty of water. At least 16 ounces before your draw. Hydration makes your veins easier to access and your results more accurate.
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your labs. Alcohol affects liver enzymes, blood sugar, and triglyceride levels.
Continue your regular medications unless your provider has specifically advised you to pause them before your draw.
Wear a short sleeve or loose-fitting top for easy access to your arm.
Avoid strenuous exercise the day before. Intense activity can affect muscle enzymes and certain hormone levels.
Get a full night of rest. Sleep quality influences cortisol, blood sugar, and several key markers.
Bring a light snack to enjoy immediately after your draw, especially if you have fasted.

Preparing for a Pap Smear

Women's health screening
Schedule between days 10 and 20 of your menstrual cycle, counting from the first day of your last period. Avoid scheduling during your period if possible.
Avoid vaginal intercourse for 48 hours before your exam. Intercourse can affect the accuracy of your results.
Avoid tampons, douches, vaginal lubricants, spermicides, or vaginal medications for 48 hours prior unless medically necessary.
Empty your bladder before the exam for your comfort during the procedure.
Wear comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing. You will be provided a drape or gown for the exam.
Mild cramping or light spotting after the procedure is completely normal and typically resolves within a day.
Let us know if you feel anxious. We will take our time. Your comfort is our priority throughout the entire exam.
Results are typically available within 1 to 2 weeks and will be shared with you through your patient portal.

Preparing for a Telehealth Visit

Virtual appointments
Check your email before your appointment. Your telehealth video link will be sent to the email address on file. Check your spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox.
Test your camera and microphone before your appointment. A quick test call with a friend or family member works perfectly.
Find a quiet, private space with good lighting. Natural light facing you is best so your provider can see you clearly.
Use a stable internet connection. Wi-Fi is preferred over mobile data to avoid dropped calls mid-visit.
Have your medication list ready, including all prescriptions, supplements, and over-the-counter medications with their dosages.
Wear clothing that allows access to the area of concern if your provider may need to visually assess it during the visit.
Have home monitoring devices nearby if you own them. A blood pressure cuff, thermometer, or glucometer can be helpful during your visit.
Join 5 minutes early to resolve any connection issues so your full appointment time is protected.

Preparing for Body Sculpting

Contouring and pelvic floor
Hydrate well in the 24 to 48 hours before your session. Proper hydration supports lymphatic drainage and optimizes your results.
Avoid heavy meals within 2 hours of your appointment. A light snack beforehand is fine.
Do not apply lotions, oils, or creams to the treatment area on the day of your session.
Wear or bring comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area.
Avoid sun exposure to the treatment area for at least two weeks prior to your session.
Avoid blood-thinning supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, and ibuprofen unless directed by your provider.
Do not book if you are pregnant. Please let us know at the time of scheduling so we can find the right alternative for you.
Continue hydrating and avoid strenuous exercise immediately after your session to support your body's natural recovery process.

Preparing for 3D Body Scanning

Body composition analysis
Wear form-fitting, minimal clothing for accurate measurements. Compression leggings and a sports bra, or fitted shorts, are ideal.
Remove all jewelry, watches, and accessories including hair clips or headbands before your scan.
Tie your hair up to allow for accurate shoulder and neck measurements. A flat bun or low ponytail works best.
Remove shoes and socks for a complete and accurate full-body scan.
Avoid large meals immediately before your scan. Bloating can temporarily affect circumference measurements.
Try to schedule outside of your menstrual period if possible, as hormonal bloating can affect your results.
The scan is completely non-invasive and takes less than 60 seconds. Simply stand still in a natural, relaxed posture.
Results are available immediately and will be reviewed with your provider during your appointment.

Preparing for Facial Skin Analysis

Skin health assessment
Come with a clean, makeup-free face if possible. This gives your provider the most accurate view of your skin's current condition.
Avoid retinol, AHA, and BHA products for 24 to 48 hours before your analysis. These can temporarily alter skin texture and tone.
Skip facial waxing or threading for at least 48 hours before your appointment to avoid skin sensitivity.
Do not schedule immediately after a laser treatment or chemical peel. Allow your skin adequate time to heal first.
Avoid excessive sun exposure for 24 hours before your analysis. Sun exposure causes temporary changes in pigmentation and redness.
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your visit. Skin hydration levels directly impact the accuracy of your analysis.
Bring a list of your current skincare products, including cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and SPF. Your provider will review them with you.
The analysis is completely non-invasive and painless. Your provider will walk you through your results and personalized skincare recommendations.
Have questions about how to prepare for a visit type not listed here? Message us through your patient portal or call our office at (469) 892-0194 and we will walk you through it before your appointment.
