Each member receives one credit per month. One credit equals one primary care visit. Here is how to get the most from your membership.
A standard visit uses one credit and covers all primary care needs addressed in that single appointment.
- Annual wellness and preventive visits
- Sick visits and acute concerns
- Chronic care management visits
A wellness visit is strictly preventive. If you also address a medical concern during the same appointment, it becomes a combined visit and requires two credits.
The second credit is triggered when the visit includes any of the following:
- New or ongoing symptoms being addressed
- Medication prescriptions or changes
- Referrals to specialists
- Any lab orders beyond what is clinically indicated for a preventive visit
What Is and Is Not
a Wellness Visit
Understanding the difference between a wellness visit and a problem-based visit matters because it determines whether your appointment uses one credit or two. This distinction protects the integrity of preventive care and ensures Chelsea has the appropriate time allocated for each visit type.
- Preventive care and health maintenance
- Routine screenings appropriate for your age and risk
- Lab fees (billed separately at your member discount rate)
- Immunization review and updates
- General health counseling
- Problem-based or symptom-based concerns
- Medication management or prescription changes
- New diagnoses or treatment plans
- Referrals to other providers
When a wellness visit expands to include any problem-based care, the visit becomes a combined visit and a second credit applies. This is not a penalty — it reflects the additional clinical time and documentation required for medical concerns beyond prevention.
- Wellness portion: 1 credit
- Medical concerns portion: 1 additional credit
- Total for combined visit: 2 credits
Chelsea will always communicate clearly if your visit is trending toward a combined visit before the appointment concludes.
Lab Discounts for
Every Member, Every Month
Lab fees are always billed separately from your visit credit. All members receive a 25% discount on all self-pay labs from day one. After 12 consecutive months, members receive an additional 10% off wellness labs as a reward for their ongoing commitment to preventive care.
These labs are commonly ordered during preventive wellness visits and qualify for the enhanced loyalty discount after 12 months. All labs are billed separately at your member discount rate:
- CBC (Complete Blood Count)
- CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel)
- Lipid Panel
- A1C
- TSH (Thyroid)
- PSA (age appropriate)
- Pap Smear
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin B12 and Folate
- Testosterone
- STD Panel
- EKG
After 12 consecutive months of uninterrupted membership, you receive an additional 10% off wellness labs, bringing your total wellness lab discount to 35%. This is Orchid Wellness recognizing and rewarding your commitment to consistent preventive care.
The standard 25% discount on all labs remains in effect for all members regardless of tenure. Lab fees are always billed separately from your visit credit.
Cover Your Whole
Family for Less
Satellite members (adults and children) are linked to one active Primary Member account. Each satellite member receives their own monthly credit independently. If the Primary Member cancels, all satellites must either convert to a Primary Membership or use remaining credits within the allowed timeframe.
All satellite members linked to that account must either convert to their own Primary Membership at $125/month, or use any remaining valid credits within their 6-month credit validity window. Satellite memberships cannot exist without an active Primary Member account.
