Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle with concentrated light energy. The Diode Laser emits a specific wavelength that is absorbed by the follicle, generating heat that damages the follicle's ability to produce future hair growth — without harming the surrounding skin.
Results are permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. With consistent sessions spaced appropriately through each hair growth cycle, treated follicles progressively lose their ability to produce hair. Most patients achieve 80 to 90 percent permanent reduction after a full series.

One of the most important distinctions about our Diode Laser system is its safety and effectiveness across all Fitzpatrick skin types. Many laser hair removal providers limit services to lighter skin tones due to the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with older laser technologies.
Our Diode Laser is calibrated to deliver precise follicular energy at the wavelength and depth that minimizes surface skin interaction, making it safe and effective for medium to deep skin tones including patients of African, Latin, South Asian, and Middle Eastern descent.

What to Expect
From Start to Smooth
Laser hair removal is a process, not a single event. Understanding the timeline helps you plan your series and set realistic expectations for when you will see results.
Chelsea assesses your skin type, hair characteristics, and target areas. She confirms you are a candidate and builds a personalized session plan with a realistic results timeline.
Sessions are typically 6 to 8 weeks apart to target hair in its active growth phase. The laser is passed over the treatment area in systematic passes. Most sessions are quick and well-tolerated.
After each session, treated hairs shed over 1 to 3 weeks. You will notice progressively less regrowth with each completed session. Most patients see significant reduction by session 3 or 4.
After a full series of 6 to 8 sessions, most patients achieve 80 to 90 percent permanent hair reduction. Occasional touch-up sessions may be needed annually for maintenance.
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, thread, or use depilatory creams for at least 4 weeks prior.
- Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for 2 weeks before treatment. Active tans increase the risk of skin reactions.
- Arrive with clean skin. No lotions, perfume, or deodorant on the treatment area on the day of your session.
- Inform Chelsea of any medications you are taking, particularly photosensitizing medications, antibiotics, or retinoids.
- Avoid heat treatments (saunas, hot tubs) for 24 hours before your appointment.
- Expect mild redness and a sensation similar to a light sunburn for 12 to 24 hours. This is normal and resolves quickly.
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 48 hours and apply SPF 30 or higher to treated areas daily for 2 weeks.
- Do not use hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 24 to 48 hours following treatment.
- Hair will shed gradually over 1 to 3 weeks. Do not pick, wax, or tweeze — allow it to fall out naturally.
- Avoid retinoids and active skincare ingredients on treated areas for 5 to 7 days.
- Stay consistent with your session schedule. Missing sessions or delaying them beyond the recommended interval reduces results.
