"I want you to walk in feeling ready. This page will help you make the most of every
minute we have together."

45 to 60

minutes for your first visit.
No rushing. No shortcuts.

7

steps to know before you arrive
so your time is well spent.

9

visit types with their own
prep guide below.

 Your First Visit

## What to expect⏎ _when you arrive._

Your first visit is a comprehensive conversation about you. Plan for approximately
45 to 60 minutes.

01

Arrive 10 to 15 Minutes Early

This gives you time to complete any remaining intake paperwork and settle in before
you meet with your provider. If you completed your forms online ahead of time, you
are already ahead.

02

Health History Review

Your provider will review your full health history, current medications, supplements,
allergies, and any concerns or goals you have brought to this visit. Nothing is
too small to mention.

03

Vitals Assessment

We will check your blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and oxygen saturation.
These give us a baseline picture of how your body is functioning today.

04

Physical Examination

Depending on your reason for visit and health history, a physical examination may
be performed. Your provider will explain everything before proceeding and will always
ask for your consent.

05

Lab Work May Be Ordered

Based on your health goals and clinical findings, your provider may order laboratory
tests. These may be completed at the time of your visit or at a designated lab.

06

Your Personalized Care Plan

You and your provider will build a care plan together. This is not a one-size-fits-
all approach. Your plan will reflect your goals, your lifestyle, and your values.

07

Follow-Up and Next Steps

Before you leave, we will schedule any follow-up appointments, referrals, or lab
reviews needed. Your results will be communicated through your patient portal.

 Before You Come In

## How to prepare⏎ _for your visit._

A little preparation goes a long way. Find your visit type below and review the
checklist before your appointment.

### Preparing for Blood Work

Labs and diagnostics

**Fast for 8 to 12 hours unless your provider tells you otherwise.** Depending on
your visit, some labs require fasting, so fasting is the safe default. Water is
always okay, and most medications are fine unless your provider has instructed otherwise.

**Drink plenty of water.** At least 16 ounces before your draw. Hydration makes
your veins easier to access and your results more accurate.

**Avoid alcohol** for at least 24 hours before your labs. Alcohol affects liver
enzymes, blood sugar, and triglyceride levels.

**Continue your regular medications** unless your provider has specifically advised
you to pause them before your draw.

**Wear a short sleeve or loose-fitting top** for easy access to your arm.

**Avoid strenuous exercise** the day before. Intense activity can affect muscle
enzymes and certain hormone levels.

**Get a full night of rest.** Sleep quality influences cortisol, blood sugar, and
several key markers.

**Bring a light snack** to enjoy immediately after your draw, especially if you
have fasted.

### Preparing for a Pap Smear

Women's health screening

**Schedule between days 10 and 20** of your menstrual cycle, counting from the first
day of your last period. Avoid scheduling during your period if possible.

**Avoid vaginal intercourse** for 48 hours before your exam. Intercourse can affect
the accuracy of your results.

**Avoid tampons, douches, vaginal lubricants, spermicides, or vaginal medications**
for 48 hours prior unless medically necessary.

**Empty your bladder** before the exam for your comfort during the procedure.

**Wear comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing.** You will be provided a drape or gown
for the exam.

**Mild cramping or light spotting** after the procedure is completely normal and
typically resolves within a day.

**Let us know if you feel anxious.** We will take our time. Your comfort is our
priority throughout the entire exam.

**Results are typically available within 1 to 2 weeks** and will be shared with
you through your patient portal.

### Preparing for a Telehealth Visit

Virtual appointments

**Check your email before your appointment.** Your telehealth video link will be
sent to the email address on file. Check your spam folder if you do not see it in
your inbox.

**Test your camera and microphone** before your appointment. A quick test call with
a friend or family member works perfectly.

**Find a quiet, private space** with good lighting. Natural light facing you is
best so your provider can see you clearly.

**Use a stable internet connection.** Wi-Fi is preferred over mobile data to avoid
dropped calls mid-visit.

**Have your medication list ready,** including all prescriptions, supplements, and
over-the-counter medications with their dosages.

**Wear clothing that allows access** to the area of concern if your provider may
need to visually assess it during the visit.

**Have home monitoring devices nearby** if you own them. A blood pressure cuff,
thermometer, or glucometer can be helpful during your visit.

**Join 5 minutes early** to resolve any connection issues so your full appointment
time is protected.

**Need a weekend or evening visit?** Extended telehealth hours are available on
some weekends and evenings for patients in Texas, New York, Virginia, and DC at
[telehealth.myorchidwellness.com](https://telehealth.myorchidwellness.com).

### Preparing for IV Therapy

Wellness drips and injections

**Eat a light meal** 1 to 2 hours before your infusion. Receiving an IV on an empty
stomach can leave you feeling lightheaded.

**Drink plenty of water** the day of your visit. Good hydration makes your veins
easier to access.

**Wear short sleeves or loose sleeves** that roll up easily above the elbow.

**Tell us about your health history,** including kidney or heart conditions, pregnancy,
allergies, and all current medications and supplements.

**Plan for 30 to 60 minutes** for most drips. NAD+ infusions take longer, so plan
your day accordingly.

**Bring something to enjoy,** like a book, headphones, or your phone, and get comfortable
in our infusion chair.

**A cool sensation or a vitamin taste** during your infusion is common. Let us know
right away if you feel pain, burning, or swelling at the IV site.

**Keep your bandage on for about an hour** afterward, and continue drinking water
for the rest of the day.

### Preparing for Laser Hair Removal

Diode laser, all skin types

**Shave the treatment area 24 hours before** your session. Shaving is encouraged;
it lets the laser target the follicle instead of the hair on the surface.

**Do not wax, pluck, thread, or use hair removal creams** for 4 weeks before treatment.
The laser needs the hair root in place to work.

**Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanner** for 2 weeks before your session
to protect your skin and lower the risk of irritation.

**Arrive with clean skin.** No lotion, oil, makeup, or deodorant (for underarm treatments)
on the treatment area.

**Pause retinoids and exfoliants** on the treatment area for several days beforehand.

**Tell us about your medications,** especially antibiotics, acne medications such
as isotretinoin, or anything that makes your skin sensitive to light.

**Mild redness or a warm sensation** afterward is normal. Use SPF daily, and avoid
hot tubs, saunas, and intense workouts for 24 to 48 hours.

**Plan for a series of sessions** spaced several weeks apart, since hair grows in
cycles and each session treats the follicles that are active.

### Preparing for RF Microneedling

Collagen stimulation and skin renewal

**Stop retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants** 3 to 5 days before your treatment.

**Avoid sun exposure, tanning, and self-tanner** for 2 weeks before your session.

**Tell us if you have a history of cold sores,** active breakouts, are pregnant,
have taken isotretinoin in the last 6 months, or have a pacemaker or metal implants
near the treatment area.

**Schedule neurotoxin or filler treatments** at least 2 weeks apart from your microneedling
session in the same area.

**Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.** Numbing cream is applied in the office
before your treatment begins.

**Plan for 60 to 90 minutes,** including time for numbing.

**Expect redness similar to a mild sunburn** for 1 to 3 days. Skip makeup for 24
hours and use gentle skincare.

**Protect your results** with daily SPF, and avoid sun exposure, saunas, and intense
workouts for 24 to 48 hours after treatment.

### Preparing for Body Sculpting

Contouring and pelvic floor

**Hydrate well** in the 24 to 48 hours before your session. Proper hydration supports
lymphatic drainage and optimizes your results.

**Avoid heavy meals** within 2 hours of your appointment. A light snack beforehand
is fine.

**Do not apply lotions, oils, or creams** to the treatment area on the day of your
session.

**Wear or bring comfortable, loose-fitting clothing** that allows easy access to
the treatment area.

**Avoid sun exposure** to the treatment area for at least two weeks prior to your
session.

**Do not book if you are pregnant.** Please let us know at the time of scheduling
so we can find the right alternative for you.

**Continue hydrating and avoid strenuous exercise** immediately after your session
to support your body's natural recovery process.

### Preparing for 3D Body Scanning

Body composition analysis

**Wear form-fitting, minimal clothing** for accurate measurements. Compression leggings
and a sports bra, or fitted shorts, are ideal.

**Remove all jewelry, watches, and accessories** including hair clips or headbands
before your scan.

**Tie your hair up** to allow for accurate shoulder and neck measurements. A flat
bun or low ponytail works best.

**Remove shoes and socks** for a complete and accurate full-body scan.

**Avoid large meals immediately before your scan.** Bloating can temporarily affect
circumference measurements.

**Try to schedule outside of your menstrual period** if possible, as hormonal bloating
can affect your results.

**The scan is completely non-invasive** and takes less than 60 seconds. Simply stand
still in a natural, relaxed posture.

**Results are available immediately** and will be reviewed with your provider during
your appointment.

### Preparing for Facial Skin Analysis

Skin health assessment

**Come with a clean, makeup-free face** if possible. This gives your provider the
most accurate view of your skin's current condition.

**Avoid retinol, AHA, and BHA products** for 24 to 48 hours before your analysis.
These can temporarily alter skin texture and tone.

**Skip facial waxing or threading** for at least 48 hours before your appointment
to avoid skin sensitivity.

**Do not schedule immediately after a laser treatment** or chemical peel. Allow
your skin adequate time to heal first.

**Avoid excessive sun exposure** for 24 hours before your analysis. Sun exposure
causes temporary changes in pigmentation and redness.

**Drink plenty of water** in the days leading up to your visit. Skin hydration levels
directly impact the accuracy of your analysis.

**Bring a list of your current skincare products,** including cleansers, moisturizers,
serums, and SPF. Your provider will review them with you.

**The analysis is completely non-invasive and painless.** Your provider will walk
you through your results and personalized skincare recommendations.
